It's a free ride when you've already paid
It's the good advice that you just didn't take
Who would've thought ... it figures ♫♪
Alanis Morissette was a singer / song writer most recognised in the 90's. This is one her most famous songs and its called Ironic. This song has many meanings, for example reading on the internet some people think its not meant to be ironic at all. However, i think the song is really inspiring. To me it talks about how things happen, you have to live the moment and you can't let these things bring you down. Below are some of the best versus in the song in my opinion. What does it mean to you?
♫♪ An old man turned ninety-eight
He won the lottery and died the next day
It's a black fly in your Chardonnay
It's a death row pardon two minutes too late
Isn't it ironic ... don't you think ♫♪
♫♪ Mr. Play It Safe was afraid to fly
He packed his suitcase and kissed his kids good-bye
He waited his whole damn life to take that flight
And as the plane crashed down he thought
'Well isn't this nice...'
And isn't it ironic ... don't you think ♫♪
How many songs do you know that talks about how bad things can happen yet it is a feel good song? This song is amazing because it describes how things can go wrong but you've just got to enjoy it and live in the moment. The gift of music <3
Some stories make us laugh, some stories make us cry. But isn't that the makings of a good story? Something that makes us feel.
